This hand painted toast rack in a typical Art Deco shape from the 1930 even works with my 60s Melamine egg cups thanks to its cheerful colour scheme. Not to everyone’s taste but I love it. Continue reading

Melamine Egg Cups
How do you like your eggs? I like mine soft boiled in a Melamine egg cup and depending on my mood I choose between pastel and bright. Love the colours, the shape and the fact that they can’t break (well nearly). Produced by Melaware in the 60s.
Bargain: £1 each on Camden Market and a set of 4 for £10 at the Ally Pally Vintage Fair
Ally Pally
My favourite Antique fair happens 2-3 times a year at Alexandra Palace in North London. Luckily I can walk over there in 20 minutes. The iconic venue build in 1873 is the perfect background for over 600 antique and vintage stalls. It attracts a fair amount of local and international dealers but more interestingly sellers clearing out their aunties attic or someone selling off the long forgotten contents of their basement. Here’s the bargain territory.
