Berlin has a fair amount of ‘Troedel’ markets. ‘Troedel’ means ‘Junk’. The junk they sell in Berlin would often pass as ‘Antiques’ in London.
One of my favourite markets is the Arena Market in Kreuzberg. In my student days half of my home furnishing was source from there. The market remained the same and is somehow immune to rising prices of collectables on ebay. It holds vasts amount of treasure and trash alike: Period furniture, ceramics, Vintage fashion, lightning, electrics, plumbing and piles of junk. Bargaining is a must but in general the price level is very berlin, hence affordable.
The market is open every Saturday and Sunday in a huge warehouse with no heating so be prepared when visiting in Winter.
